Phil :

For weeks now i’ve been getting notifications sent from the mail sub system telling me my mail was undeliverable, sometimes 10 a day. I assume that someone has hacked into my email account and is spamming. I have the latest updated antivirus/spyware protection and it’s not picking anything up, how do i get rid of this hacker?

Thanks for your input.

These are viruses…I get them all the time. They come from spammers.

Delete them…do NOT open them.

contact yahoo, if they don’t help then close your account and get a gmail account

Hotmail is really bad for this. Gmail is better. So is yahoo mail. Anyway, change your permissions so that, for the moment, only those you approve may send you mail. It is likely not your account that is causing this – I would suspect that someone you sent an email to has a virus that is mass sending out email using that person’s address book as the sender names. Run a virus scan on your own system just in case, but really there isn’t much you can do if the virus is coming from someone else other than close out the email account and start again.

it sounds like you got a worm that is sending spam or somthing , check your ports go to shields up and try house call for a web virus scan if your infected its bypassing your antivirus and your just wasting time if you find open ports and any viruses contact yahoo or your internet service provider after being sure youve been invaded the only thing to realy be sure is to repartitione and format your hard drive then do a fresh install of your operating system . web based proxys can help as well as getting a diferent browser .i sugest firefox or opra :D good luck i hope you get things straight.

The mails returned to your email is not something to worry about, its a server gltich and nothing else, but to assure your account security I’d recommend you to change your password periodically, at least once in 15 days, use a sign in seal to secure your yahoo inbox and account.
