Stupidly (I know, shoot me) installed a special software toolbar on my pc (thinking it would get me software off the net) and I uninstalled it using Add/Remove function in Windows XP. I have noticed that it still opens up spam windows on my pc when I browse the net. It is most certainly annoying to experience this. I have used Ad-Aware and Spybot but they don’t seem to remove the program. How do I stop this program from hijacking my browser? Thanx!!!

Lesson learned!
Take it to a tech and get it professionally “cleaned”. Some of these programs will ask you to download something else for money to get rid of it. Even if you “uninstall” it, some components will remain behind.
try to uninstall your firefox and then reinstall it
Well, more info would help, BUT. Try uninstalling it with add/remove programs, which I doubt will work… If not, goto firefox > goto tools > goto add-ons > Look for the toolbar > disable

Goto plugins > look for anything suspicous (spyware block, webguard pro v 7, etc.) > disable it…
